Hair Loss & Scalp Health Support

Why I’m Studying Trichology

As a hairdresser, I’ve spent years helping clients look and feel their best but I’ve also seen how deeply hair loss, thinning, scalp irritation, and unexplained changes can affect confidence.

I wanted to understand why these issues happen and how to support people beyond just cutting or colouring their hair. That’s what led me to study Trichology, the science of the hair and scalp.

My training allows me to look deeper than the surface. Instead of guessing or giving generic advice, I’m learning how to assess what’s really happening beneath the hair, understand the root cause of symptoms within the body, and offer personalised guidance that genuinely helps.

What Is Trichology?

Trichology is the specialised study of:

  • Hair growth

  • Scalp conditions

  • Hair loss patterns

  • Follicle health

  • Hair shaft disorders

A trichologist looks at the whole picture from lifestyle and hormones to nutrition, stress, health history, haircare routines and more to understand why changes are happening.

It bridges the gap between hairdressing and medical understanding, giving clients a safe, knowledgeable place to start when something feels “not quite right” with their hair or scalp.

How I Can Help You

Whether you’re dealing with sudden shedding, or missing patches, long-term thinning, scalp irritation, or changes after pregnancy, illness or stress, my role is to:

1. Listen to Your Concerns

You’ll never feel rushed or dismissed. Hair loss can be emotional and I treat it with sensitivity and care.

2. Assess Your Scalp & Hair

I use my trichology training to look closely at the health of your scalp, follicles and hair shaft. This helps me identify what’s happening and why.

3. Identify Possible Causes

Hair and scalp issues can be linked to:

  • Hormonal changes

  • Postpartum recovery

  • Stress

  • Nutrition

  • Illness or medications

  • Genetics

  • Product build-up

  • Incorrect haircare routines

Understanding the cause is the first step to improving the outcome.

4. Create a Personalised Plan

Based on your assessment, I can recommend:

  • Scalp treatments

  • Haircare routines

  • Product changes

  • Lifestyle or nutritional adjustments

  • Salon treatments

  • Referral to a medical professional if needed

My goal is to support healthier hair growth and a calmer, more balanced scalp.

5. Ongoing Support

Hair recovery takes time. I’m here to guide you with realistic expectations, honest advice, and a clear plan of action.
