Meet Emma
Get to know me, your hair stylist and training trichologist…
I started my hairdressing journey at just 14 years old as a Saturday girl. I stayed in that first salon for seven years, working my way up. From there, I moved into Chelmsford.
I decided to take a step away for a while, moving across the world to Australia. Where I found myself back in hairdressing and working in some incredible salons in some beautiful cities, growing not only as a hairdresser but as a person.
Then, of course, came Covid. Like so many, I had to return home and felt like I was starting from scratch again. I built my freelance clientele back up from zero and within just four months, I was fully booked again.
This time I invested in a space and renting a chair rather than working mobile, and it changed everything. My business grew, and I’ve now been thriving in my current space for two years with many more to come! You can now find me at Options Hairdressing in Chelmsford.
Since then, I’ve never looked back. My diary has stayed consistently full, I’ve built a business around my dream clients, and I absolutely love connecting with you all.
But growth never stops! I’m now studying Trichology (the science of hair and scalp health) and will qualify in March 2026 or sooner
You can follow my journey over on tarbardtrichology where I’ll be sharing education and advice around hair health, hair loss, and scalp conditions.
And most excitingly, I’ve just welcomed my first team member, Sophie who will be with me on Saturdays in the salon.
